A london trip cut short. Another cold. Dissertation panic.
I have to run to Uni soon (got two campuses I visit. This one is a bit further away, out in the more leafy part of Bristol with a deer-park next to it), so I’ll be brief.
My London trip was fantastic, up to a certain point.
The same day I arrived, I went straight to meet an online friend and felt very pleased with myself when I was able to navigate and use the tube on my own. Felt like using this music while moving around London: (You need spotify to be able to listen) http://open.spotify.com/track/71JsD8zMzMFchyyW3Leooh
Met my friend in the Natural History Museum and spent the entire day with him, then headed off to El’s place (on my own, I must add. No maps) where I had an evening with her and her dad, eating proper homecooked chinese food. Proper. Not the stuff you get in tacky take-aways. This is also the family I used to visit in Wales and eat seafood they caught themselves. They are just about the most hard-working family I know of.
Anywayy! The following days I toddled around in London with El and also meet Corey (the writer) again! I even had plans to meet Tim, but then the dreaded e-mail reached me.
The e-mail was from my tutor and stated that my dissertation had to be handed in in 3 days time. Hence the bottom self portrait. Needless to say, I panicked. I was just sitting in front of the computer, cackling to myself because I knew I was royally buggered. After a phonecall home to Tom, I decided to cut my London trip short and go home that same day, so I had to cancel the meeting with Tim.
Upon returning to Bristol, I caught a cold (maybe it had been brewing in London?), but soldiered on and wrote until my fingers were on fire.
Then I got another email from my tutor saying: ‘ERROR ERROR! The date stated in the previous e-mail is wrong!’
… Turns out it was the date I had previously thought, and not in 3 days…
Brain just shut off for the rest of the weekend. I couldn’t be bothered to write anything because of the energy the stress had taken out of me.
*checks time* Err. I should be leaving now.
Hrm. Anyway! I now have about a week and a little bit to finish the dissertation, so that is my plan of action.
Oh, and as a little footnote. The investment I made into Tom’s company has paid off. So that’s great news :D (I will leave it at that. Only dad will probably understand that sentence!)
Off to brave the cold and grey winter of Bristol!
