Worked my sorry bum off and it was worth it. Not only have we actually got a clean house now. We also seemingly impressed the inspector. Goodie!

What else is there to tell about life?

Well. Went to the weekly roleplay at the pub where I play a cybernetic grandmother with a laser cane. She also has an obsession with food and used to be a diplomat… But not a good one. This session she did manage to get one of the baddies neck snapped just by being diplomatic. Mmm.

Today I will probably try to go in to town with the ring, get some money on my mobile (about time), see if the coat is back in stock yet (had my current coat ever since my school years), and take some reference pictures for Nebo.

Went out for a morning jog. Slowly finding out what is the best way for me to exercise. Seems like I have to warm down for 10 minutes after the jog by simply walking. Otherwise I start feeling sick. Very strange.

We also went to a pirate ship! Yarr! And ate lotsa food! The Harbour festival is *huge*. We went by all the stalls that sold food, candy, cheese, pastries etc… The smell… Mmmm…

Also later went in to Ann Summers (sex shop) with Megan, still with my face paint on. We joked that I might be mistaken for a furry. Well, I did get strange looks while checking out the leather wips.

Oh gosh! It’s a miracle! It’s actually NOT raining.

I will take this opportunity to visit the bank again. Went there yesterday to discuss my account and why I am being charged for it. As I suspected, the reason they charge me is because I am an international student. The man on the other side of the desk looked at me from the computer screen and paused a moment. “To be honest though. Are you here to stay?” I nodded and told him I was not going back. He smiled and informed me of the normal student account that British students recieve. If I get that, I have no fees. I just need my acceptance letter from the University and then it should be sorted.

So, Am I here to stay? For now, yes. I made it sound obvious to the banker so I could have my proper account and not the crap one. But when the course is done, I have no idea what I’m doing or where I’m going, but then again, I won’t be needing a student account after I’ve graduated.

It’s all good.

On Monday people are coming to inspect the flat. I will make them lick the floor.

Was supposed to go out today and buy a new coat. The weather outside is putting me off. Instead, I’m sitting here, drinking coffee and playing sims 2. Also chatting with my parents on the phone. They helped me out financially a few days ago and I really wanted to thank them. Money isn’t at crisis point and it would take a lot of reckless spending to actually get there, but it’s at the point where I don’t feel like I can hang out with friends for a coffee or take the bus to another friend outside of town. :( (It is also at the point where I don’t have money for another month of rent until I get my student loan.)
On the plus side though, the Swedish Studentloan people have finally recieved my application! I thought it had gotten lost in the post or something. So hopefully they will make a good decision soon and get the money rolling in.

Also beginning to take my commissions more seriously. Before it was just something I thought about and then dismissed because I didn’t think I could to a good job. Now it’s more like I need to do my best, both for the people who have requested stuff and for myself. If I don’t practice I will get nowhere.

It’s a real bitch to have that feeling of fear sometimes before approaching a new drawing. Talked about that with Neil the other day. The fear of failure before even starting. Oh dear. But as Tom said: “If you are going to make it in the art world, you need to be able to take rejections and critisism.”

Bummer. :P

I have been watching the news closely for over a week now, following the development of the severe flooding that is under way in England. It started off in the northern part and has now come all the way down to Gloucester. About 350,000 people will today run out of fresh water and the queue to bottled water is immense.

I haven’t heard anything about the water reaching Bristol yet and I have no idea if it ever will, but looking up on Google Earth, I saw that Gloucester (spelling?) and Bristol is not that far apart. There is nothing one can do now but wait and see what happens.

Many rivers are due to reach “critical” level and many towns and villages are completely cut off without electricity or anything. This is a huge crisis here at the moment which the government said would get worse before it gets better. Yay.

What a summer! Here in Bristol, the skies are grey. It’s not raining right now, but who knows what will happen next! Sheesh :D

Tonight is Roleplaying night at a pub. Tomorrow might be the day I go and show my ring design to a jeweller maker person thing. Life in general is good. A bit poor and doing everything not to spend money. Still no word from the Swedish Government about my funding…
